1. Your files never leave your device

PDFLite tools run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. When you merge, compress, split, convert, rotate, protect or edit a PDF — or remove an image background — the file is processed locally on your own device. We do not upload, store, or see your files. There is no server-side processing of your documents or images.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not require accounts or sign-ups, so we do not collect names, email addresses, or personal identifiers through the tools themselves. We do not collect the content of your files.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and operational purposes. We use this only to keep the site running reliably.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage (not tracking cookies) for purely functional purposes: remembering your dark/light theme choice and, on the Edit PDF tool, counting your daily free edits. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us.

The AI background-removal model files are cached by your browser via standard HTTP caching so repeat visits are faster. This cache lives on your device.

5. Third-party services

We load open-source JavaScript libraries from public CDNs (such as jsDelivr) to power the tools. These CDNs may log standard request data per their own privacy policies. We do not use analytics trackers that follow you across the web.

In the future we may display ads via Google AdSense to keep the tools free. If enabled, Google may use cookies to serve relevant ads per Google's advertising policies.

6. Children's privacy

PDFLite is a general-purpose utility site not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
